Welcome October

Welcome to this Active English Experience
I’m Nick Simcock

I like the falling autumn leaves, roasted chestnuts,
mushrooms, the harvest, seasonal fruits and vegetables,
I love warm drinks, the cooler air and the darker days don’t bother me.

Compared to the summer, I feel greater clarity and focus for my work and projects,
the kids are settled back at school
there are new routines in my life

Whatever the start of this month means to you…
Happy October!

September brought me new energy and new routines,
but before I rush into October, I want to take a moment to look back.
What did I learn about myself and my life in September?
What happened that I was pleased about?
How did my daily activities go?
What would I like to carry forward into this month?
What would I like to change?
It could be just a small activity or habit to add or remove.
I’d like to find more time for myself, my family and friends.

Now, tell your story.
Use any of the language that I have used in this audio as a starting point.
And then include what’s important to you.
Find a pen and paper and make some notes if it helps.
You can begin: “In September, I discovered…”  or “This October, I want to continue…”
Your answer can be as simple or as detailed as you like.
But make it true and meaningful to your life.
It doesn’t have to be perfect, just start,
because that’s when English starts to become yours.
